DIY - Fork Protector

Yesterday, since i've nothing to do, here i share some photo of my home-made DIY fork protector for my Versys.. During 4 versys travel from KL to London lead by Kapten Azizi, there was a fork leaking case.. It was due to impurities on the surface of the fork which was not cleaned...

 So take it as lesson-learned.. i try to make my own version of fork protector...  There was also an advanced idea from my versys friends on how to DIY this thing (using Velcro Strap etc..).. But i just cant wait.. I just make the simple one.. Hopefully it will work as i wish.. 

Using this black rubber, scissors & glue. I found & pick this black rubber @ the road side.. It was mashed by cars so it look poor already.. Better than nothing..!!

Measure, cut into size & connect it together if not large enough..

After glue..

Attach the rubber @ fork.. Then stick it together..

Almost finished..

Turn the rubber so that the nice surface facing infront..

Finished on the left side..

Repeat same step for the right side..

Tested... 100% works!!.. Now.. Really hope it can lasting....

30 minutes DIY for Fork Protector.. & the best part.. without spending any $$$$.... Continue polishing my Versys after that..  Yeaahhh!!!

My Versys Accersories - Acumen Gear Indicator + Voltmeter

Bought this thing from Singapore. Now easier to indicate the gear. Can monitor battery life also!

HOW DOES THE DGV WORK?

Gear position is calculated from the relationship between the engine speed and the road speed. This information comes from the electrical pulses fed to the tacho and speedo. Once the DGV has this information and it has learned the relationship between the frequency of speedo pulses to tacho pulses in first gear it can then recognise the distinct change in this relationship for the remaining gears.

Wiring information

Price @ Singapore. Quite expensive compared to here (Selling by shahadan). What to do.. i bought this thing too early..



Firstly i went to Sunvay cycle to do the wiring... After waiting for quite sometime...they fail to make it done!!!.. Might be Something wrong.. & the best part was... they blame that the things already damaged!! Cheap...!

My Versys Accersories - Sportlights & Strobe Lights

My 6th Project on Versys... 18 June 2011.. I went again to Mah Seng.. This time i want to put spotlite & strobelite to my versys...  actually i went to Mah Seng for the installation only (because Ah Choong is good in wiring.. hehe). I bought the lights at car accersories shop.. 'Star Car Accersories' shop located @ Desa Pandan (Near McD)... The shop Owner..Kenny.. is my Gym buddy.. 

The spotlite already come with the brackets.. but only for car.. Need to mod the brackets..

Strobelights installed.!! 

This time ah choong quite bzzz.. installation of the lights by his skilled mechanics.. Wiring works would be by him.. 

I used this kind of switch..just locate it at the handle bar... No need to make hole at the original meter panel to put the switch...

 Really need to creative & patience in this modification of brackets.. Otherwise the lights will not equal both side..
